Creative Digital Media Re-Brand
College Project
The Creative Digital Media, also known as CDM, Identity has been developed with close relation with the client in a educational and collaborative manner. The logo represents a lens, being modified and expanded upon. Creative, Innovative, Modern, Fun, Engaging were the words associated with the course.
The Identity
The identity is made up of 2 components. The mark and the typography, with the typography being split into a synonym and the name of the course. The mark represents a lens which connects to the CDM course a whole. The synonym allows an easy way to recognize the course an connect with the mark. The typography simply states what the course is. The synonym and the type are separated by 2 variants of the same font with the synonym being graphically altered to link more closely to the mark, and the type is more thin and smaller in size to form a pleasant but dynamic composition.
There are 2 variants of the arrangement to suit different circumstances that it may be used in. Each version swaps the black to white and vice versa.

Colours
I used 2 colours to establish a primary version that works with both variations of the identity. The colours red and cyan blue are present in both versions. The black background version turns the black elements in white and the white version turns the white elements into black. I chose those colours because they are neutral and dynamic and complement each other well, forming a 3 dimensional-like appearance like 3D glasses used in cinemas. It links to technology, which is so widely present in the course and makes it look modern and engaging.

Usage
When using a black background, please use the RGB Red, RGB Cyan and White identity.
When using a white background, please use the RGB Red, RGB Cyan and Black identity.
When using the identity as a social media profile picture, please use the mark only.
The logo may be used alongside it’s other elements, provided in the examples document.

Typography
This identity uses the Bahschrift typeface. It uses 4 variants of this typeface. Its a simple yet very customizable font that is easy to read but also stands out and can be unique. It was primarily chosen because of how it compliments the mark of the identity. It was also found to be quite progressive, depending on the use and need of type. It can save and create space with it’s ability to condense itself.
Bold Condensed was used for the CDM acronym. SemiLight SemiCondensed is used for Creative Digital Media as it remains to be the same theme but it also separates itself and doesn’t blend in with the rest of the identity. The Bold font is used for subheadings and the Light font is used for paragraphs.
